The Shipping Coordinator is the key to getting orders shipped to our customers in a timely and efficient manner!

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Managing shipping database to process completed orders for shipment
  • Working with the sales department to validate shipping and payment addresses
  • Collecting completed product and preparing daily shipments utilizing internal barcode system
  • Preparing temperature-sensitive shipments (using dry ice and ice packs, as necessary)
  • Coordinating with courier services to prepare domestic and international shipments, including generating shipping labels from carrier websites (FedEx or UPS)
  • Follow up with couriers/customs when delivery issues arise
  • Maintain shipping supplies inventory

Other Requirements

  • Have the ability to maintain quality and safety control standards
  • Are experienced in shipping and courier coordination, international and domestic
  • Have a working knowledge of postal and commercial website shipping methods and procedures
  • Are able to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Experience working with computers MS Office programs and Barcode systems
  • 2 years shipping experience (experience shipping temperature-sensitive biochemical supplies is a big plus!)

Molecular Biology Scientist

Description

ATUM is seeking a skilled and innovative molecular biologist / microbiologist for a lab-focused product and process development role. This scientist will have a leadership/mentoring position in a collaborative team, with primary responsibility to expand and deepen ATUM’s capabilities supporting our molecular biology product lines. The successful candidate will rapidly gain an understanding of each aspect of our manufacturing process and leverage our capabilities to develop process improvements and new commercial offerings. We are looking for a fundamentally curious wet-lab scientist who wants the opportunity to catalyze innovation in the field of biotechnology and bio-manufacturing. This position will work closely with the Production Manager.

Requirements

Education

B.S. or M.S. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology or related field with 5+ yrs of experience in an R&D capacity, or Ph.D. in a related field.

Skills & Techniques

Molecular Biology

  • PCR and nonstandard PCR methods
  • Methods for DNA design, assembly, and cloning.
  • DNA sequencing methods (Sanger and NGS platforms) and data processing

Microbiology and strain engineering

  • Knock-in and knock-out strain engineering methods for Escherichia coli and Saccharomyces cerevisiae
  • Experience with gene expression systems in a variety of prokaryotic and eukaryotic hosts, e.g., Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Pichia pastoris, and Saccharomyces cerevisiae is an advantage.

Project Manager, Cell Line Development

ATUM is looking for a motivated life sciences professional to join our Cell Line Development Project Management team.

We provide diverse, and often highly tailored, solutions to a broad range of clients across the globe.

ATUM’s innovative CLD team is rapidly growing. The CLD project management team supports projects that move through our CLD lab, closely interacting with customers and ATUM scientists.

The right candidate will have a good understanding of molecular biology and mammalian cell culture. While closely supported by the scientists in the CLD team, the Project Manager will need to be able to think independently to sufficiently understand the process, foresee pitfalls and plan for contingencies. All of these skills and attributes will ensure the project is a smooth experience for both the customer and the lab.

The Project Manager will be customer facing. This position is great for someone who enjoys science and is looking to apply their knowledge outside the lab, in building bridges, communicating effectively, and planning.

Requirements

Essential Job Functions

  • Meet with customers and scientific/technical leads to understand and set out project expectations
  • Work with Manager to produce a project workplan
  • Coordinate with all necessary resources for flawless execution of all managed projects
  • Manage ongoing customer relationships
  • Work with internal team to continuously improve project flow and performance
  • Document and communicate project requirements to internal manufacturing team managers
  • Create and maintain project documentation
  • Manage projects in ATUM’s LIMS

Skills

  • Good understanding of molecular biology
  • Good understanding of mammalian cell culture
  • Ability to break down a larger, more complex problem into smaller, manageable tasks
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to take ownership of projects to enable success
  • Familiarity with MS Word/Powerpoint/Project
  • A team player with strong communication skills (both written and verbal)

Education and Experience

  • Masters in biology/life sciences with 2-3 years of customer facing, life science industry experience. PhD preferred.
  • Previous technical, customer facing experience desirable.
  • 1+ years lab management/team lead/coordinator experience
  • Experience with cell line development and/or experience with working in a CRO is desirable
